All entries for ORG on GitHub

ORG on GitHubNotable changeBy Christopher W

A navbar on every page, a map with pictures, and one window for every way in

TL;DR: Every ORG page now has the same navbar, an icon on every link, folding into a Menu button on smaller screens instead of wrapping. Reach out opens one window with every way to reach ORG, and Community opens one for ORG's Telegram group. There's a map of everywhere these pages lead, with a picture of each, a page to give, and a roadmap. The what's-new count is now bright and hard to miss, and reading mode gained text sizes and shorter lines.

A navbar on every page

The entry portal (which had none), every AstroLog page and even the “page not found” pages now share one navbar: Porch, Changelog, Library, Ledger, Map, a Get involved menu (Community, Reach out, Donate), an ORG’s sites menu (orgspirituality.org, Three directions, the drasticstatic ORG lab and the dApp preview) and an About menu (Roadmap, Sustainability, GitHub, brand assets). Every link has an icon beside its words, in the navbar and in the footer.

It never wraps into a second row. When a window gets narrower, the least-needed links slip into a More menu; below a laptop’s width the whole bar folds into one Menu button, which opens a panel of everything, grouped. The menus work from the keyboard: arrow keys move through them, and Esc closes them and puts you back where you were. The footer of every page gathers the same links in groups, on one perforated sheet.

One window for every way in

Reach out, wherever it appears, now opens one window with every way to reach ORG: org@orgspirituality.org, webdev@orgspirituality.org for anything about the websites, and ORG’s shared inbox, each with a button that copies the address; Tripp on Telegram or Signal, as the Contact Us section of orgspirituality.org’s About page lists him; and ORG’s new contacts page on GitHub. A help desk for questions and website feedback is planned, and its place is marked until it opens.

Community opens one window for where ORG gathers, which is Telegram. Join the ORG group, the chat orgspirituality.org sends people to for news of the monthly meditation ceremony and where most members connect, or see what’s on first. Prefer to ask one person? Message Tripp, or create a member account on orgspirituality.org. Below them is a sneak peek at something further out: a small network ORG’s members own, on open protocols like Lens and Farcaster, paired with a DAO where members propose and vote, the way ORG already decides its beliefs. Privacy first, no dates; a direction, not a promise.

A map with pictures

The map shows everywhere these pages lead, grouped: the two front doors, the record, the ways to get involved, ORG’s sites and the lab, and the code. Each one shows the picture its link shows when you share it, so you can see where you’re going before you go. The diagram of how ORG’s code, hosting and previews connect is still there, under the cards. The entry portal has the same map, drawn from the same file, and so does the drasticstatic ORG lab.

A page to give

The new donate page points to ORG’s own giving page on orgspirituality.org, where you can give without requesting an item, and to ORG’s own words on how gifts are used. The dApp preview’s gift page is linked too, marked plainly as a preview, not live. Below them is a thank-you list for anyone who’d like to be named for their gifts of time, skill or money; it’s empty for now, and no one is ever listed without saying yes. A place to give from a crypto wallet is there as well, marked “coming soon”. There’s no wallet address on the page, on purpose: if you ever see one claiming to be ORG’s, please check with ORG first.

Where it’s headed, and what keeps it running

The roadmap says what comes next, without dates: chiefly, how these new builds come together with orgspirituality.org, most likely as a new, web3-ready site. The sustainability page writes down everything that keeps these pages alive (one access token that expires, the daily rebuilds, the shared kit, cached link previews, and the wallet allowlist for later), so none of it depends on anyone’s memory. Both are linked from the footer of every page.

What’s new, louder

Coming back after a while? The count of what’s new since your last visit is now a bright, filled pill in the header, with a small note under it the first time it appears, and the count also rides on the Menu button. It glows gently a few times, and not at all when motion is set to Still or reading mode is on.

Reading, round two

Beside the reading switch (in the light and motion drawer and the welcome guide) there are now four text sizes and a comfortable line length switch, which keeps lines of text shorter with a little more room between them. Reading mode, still Stone & Lapis, turns on the shorter lines too, and puts them back when you leave it. Both are in / search as well: type text or line.

Names

Every credit now reads first name and last initial: Tripp A, Renan T, Christopher W. ORG’s share card says the same.
